You're Not Guessing Your Gifts — You're Avoiding the Test
The Problem
Ask a Christian what their spiritual gift is and you'll usually hear a hesitation, then a guess. The hesitation isn't laziness — it's that nobody asks the question in a way that produces an answer.
Guessing has become the default because the process was never set up.
Assessment, Then Action
1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12:6-8 describe gifts as capacities given for the good of others, exercised in community. That means assessment is only half the discovery. The other half is serving somewhere and noticing what stirs.
A gift confirmed by practice is a calling; a gift confirmed only by assumption is a rumour.
Follow the Indicators
Watch for three signals: an unusual joy in the activity, visible fruit that other people confirm, and a growable weakness that doesn't leave you resentful. Those indicators narrow things faster than reading about each gift again.
Give one area three months before you judge it.
How Faith System Hub Helps
